The Tuscany Skytrail comprises 6 events for a total of 12 skyrunning/Skyrun races located throughout the Tuscan territory and affiliated with FISky, the Italian Skyrunning Federation. These are running competitions in natural mountain environments to be carried out in semi-autonomy.
The races aim to enhance the mountain territory of the various areas through running or skyrunning/trail running and to promote its founding values: sharing, inclusion and conviviality; sportsmanship, loyalty and fairness; respect for people and the environment; responsibility and awareness; promotion and defense of the mountain and its culture.
On these bases, the races are connected to each other by a single shared thread and want to offer everyone the opportunity to become part of a circle of positive energy for themselves and for our mountain.
The race circuit is open to all athletes with a valid competitive medical certificate for high cardiovascular effort sports (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6).
The circuit includes a combined ranking aimed at rewarding performance in each individual race and continuity of participation across the circuit events. To be ranked, an athlete must finish at least 3 races.
Points are awarded based on finishing position: 1st = 100, 2nd = 95, 3rd = 91, 4th = 88, 5th = 86, 6th = 85 and then decreasing by one point per further position up to 81st, beyond which every athlete receives 10 points regardless of placing.
The final ranking will be compiled by adding the 4 best scores obtained in the races competed. In addition, a score of 10 points will be awarded for each additional race completed. In case of equal points, a joint position will be assigned.
Based on the final ranking of the Tuscany Skytrail Tour, prizes will be awarded for both men and women: top 5 overall; top 3 for the following categories: Under 23 (born from 1/01/2003 onwards), Senior 24-49 years (born from 1/01/1977 to 31/12/2002), Over 50 (born before 01/01/1977).
